As a result of the ongoing political situation, house demolition has become a common practice by the occupation, and has over the years, left many Palestinian families traumatized, displaced and dispossessed. Several community-based projects act in response to this humanitarian crisis by providing access to safe, dignified and appropriate shelter to Palestinian families affected by the conflict.
Volunteers will work with our partners in some of the most affected areas by distributing tents and materials to repair damaged houses, build and arrange emergency or transitional housing. They will also assist in installing proper sanitation for kitchens and bathrooms, reinforcing hazardous structures, as well as waterproofing and replacing roofs. Such an experience will enable volunteers to partake in improving the living conditions of families, develop less advantaged communities and understand the impact of the ongoing conflict on Palestine and the Palestinian people.
Volunteers specialized in performing such tasks would be a valuable asset to this program.
